Croft - Around Longnor
Longnor, once an important market town, now
has a relaxed, nonchalant feel.
The table of tolls is still displayed on the old Town Hall
now a popular tea room and craft shop. Behind the
cobbled square, the sandstone flagged alleyways lead to
the historic church of St Bartholomew.
The village has a selection of pubs, with many more close
by, two tearooms, a Post Office, General Store, Art Gallery
and Climbing Centre.
Longnor is surrounded by some of the most dramatic scenery
in the Peak District and is a perfect base for walkers and
climbers of all ages and abilities. Several walks start
from your front door so you can leave your car behind.
Longnor
is also a good base for those who prefer the Peak
Districts other attractions such as Alton
Towers (25 minute drive), Chatsworth
House and historic Buxton.
The Potteries of Stoke-on-Trent
are also close enough to visit.
